Mason Greenwood’s new life in Spain: 24-hour translator, villa for $10,000 a month...
Greenwood joins Getafe from Premier League club Manchester United after charges of alleged rape were dropped.
Mason Greenwood recently signed for Getafe from Premier League giants Manchester United on a season-long loan.
Greenwood had been subject to an internal investigation from United since February when the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service discontinued its case against him for attempted rape, assault, and coercive control.
Manchester United and the forward decided to look for a way out and Spanish top-flight club Getafe has been the chosen destination, where a new start awaits him, but not without controversy.
Greenwood’s new life in Spain
According to The Sun, Greenwood has a new house, near Getafe’s training base. The same outlet reports that the villa he is living in costs approximately $10,000 per month and has six bedrooms.
Greenwood will move to Madrid with his father Andrew. Sources quoted by the tabloid say that he will receive constant support from his entourage, who will travel regularly from England. In order for him to adapt to his life in the Spanish capital, Greenwood will have a translator available 24 hours a day.
On a sporting level, sources close to the player explain that Greenwood is focused on soccer and also on improving off the field, where he has recently become a father.
When was the last time Greenwood played?
The United youth product has not yet made his debut with Getafe and has not played a match since January 22, 2022. He will have his first chance to return to action after the international break in the match against Osasuna at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.
