Messi to wear specially commissioned ‘Leyenda’ boots at World Cup
The Argentine striker will sport the new boots in Argentina’s opener at the Lusail Stadium on 22 November as they face Saudi Arabia.
Adidas have unveiled the “Leyenda” football boot that Argentine striker Leo Messi will wear at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The boot is a special edition of X Speedportal inspired by the boots worn by Messi in his first World Cup in 2006, the +F50.6 Tunit.
The Leyenda boots include the X Speedportal boots in gold, with details in blue, white and black, colors that represent the Argentine flag with the PSG striker desperately looking to bring the curtain down on his international career with a World Cup win that would be a third ever for the ‘Albiceleste’.
Argentina debut
Despite training separately in the days leading up to Argentina’s Group C opener against Saudi Arabia at the Lusail Iconic Stadium, the former FC Barcelona man is expected to start and will wear the “Leyenda” boots for the first time in a competitive game.
Argentina then face Mexico and Poland as part of their opening phase at the tournament.

The “Leyenda” boots are now available globally via the official Adidas website and specialist outlets.
