Lionel Messi adds another final to his legendary career — his 50th — as he looks to claim a new title against the Seattle Sounders in the Leagues Cup. This is a competition he knows well; in his very first season with Inter Miami, he guided the club to its first-ever trophy by winning this same tournament. Now, he has the chance to become a two-time champion and secure his third title with the Herons.

For Messi, this will also be an unprecedented matchup. Since arriving in MLS, he has never faced the Seattle Sounders, making this Leagues Cup final a first-time encounter on one of the biggest stages.

If Messi and Inter Miami are crowned champions this Sunday at Lumen Field, the Argentine superstar will extend his already historic list of honors, lifting the 47th trophy of his career.

With Miami, Messi has already captured the Supporters’ Shield and the Leagues Cup. Adding this new championship would not only further cement his legacy but also make both Messi and Inter Miami the first two-time winners in the history of the Supporters’ Shield.

Messi’s trophy cabinet remains unmatched. With Barcelona, he collected 35 titles, including four Champions League crowns. At PSG, he added three more championships, a total he could soon equal in just his third season in Miami.

And then, of course, there is the chapter written with Argentina. Messi’s greatest triumph came at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, accompanied by the Copa América titles in 2021 and 2024, as well as the Finalissima. Each new trophy continues to add to the extraordinary story of the game’s most decorated player.
