Mexico fans’ viral TikTok song ahead of World Cup
Fans of “El Tri” created a song based on a recently popular song “No Se Va”, covered by Grupo Frontera to help motivate the Mexican national soccer team.
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar is about to begin and fans around the world are getting excited. Fans of the Mexico national team have even made a song go viral on TikTok.
The song, based on a popular song called “No Se Va”, originally by Morat and recently covered by Grupo Frontera, starts by mentioning the lack of big stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, plus the fact that Mexico will be without some of its own big names like Carlos Vela and Javier “Chicharito” Hernández. Despite that, the song says, they won’t give up hope.
Here is a full translation of the song in English:
“We don’t have Ronaldo, much less Neymar, but we want that cup and no one is going to take it away from us.
And although we face Argentina, and Carlos Vela isn’t here, they’re going to notice us.
The Saudis are going to cry, the Polish will suffer.
Hope doesn’t go away, it doesn’t go away, it doesn’t go away.
Chicharito won’t be here. El Bebote will score goals.
Hope doesn’t go away, it doesn’t go away, it doesn’t go away.
Come on, Mexico! You can do it, b***ards! Come on, Mexico!
We want to see you become champions.
Come on, Mexico!
My passion doesn’t end.
I’ll love you all my life.
Me-xi-co, Me-xi-co, Me-xi-co!
Come on, Mexico! You can do it, b***ards! Come on, Mexico!
We want a fifth game.
Come on, Mexico!
My passion doesn’t end.
I’ll love you all my life.
Me-xi-co, Me-xi-co, Me-xi-co!”
The video went viral and already has thousands of likes and shares, so who knows if it will actually become a cheer during the World Cup when the Mexico national team plays.
Mexico plays its first friendly prior to the start of the World Cup today against Iraq at the Montilivi Stadium in Gerona, Spain.
