There will be a new arrival at Juventus by the end of today - Arkadiusz Milik. The Polish striker will undergo a medical this afternoon with Juve, who were interested in signing him in 2020. The 28-year-old will be an alternative for Dusan Vlahovic. Diario AS recently reported that the Italians turned their attentions to Milik after plans to secure their first option, Memphis Depay, fell through. Depay’s wage demands were simply too high for Juventus’ budget.

The former Napoli forward is set to join on loan with a purchase option in an operation which, variables included, will bring in around 10 million euros for Olympique Marseille. Milik’s agent arrived in Turin yesterday to finalize the economic details of the contract and the Juve will guarantee the striker the same salary he received in France (around three million euros net).

Massimiliano Allegri had been asking for another striker for months and with Milik, he will have an alternative to Vlahovic - or the two could play together. For Milik, such a partnership could be a similar to the one he has with Robert Lewandowski in the national team. The striker joins with the aim of vindicating himself. He joined Marseille in January 2021 but was not a regular starter. He scored 30 goals in 50 appearances for the French side, and 48 in 122 games with Napoli. Juve is the great opportunity of his career.
