MLS received more money than Liga MX for the Qatar 2022 World Cup
FIFA published the official figures for what clubs around the world received after freeing up players for the showpiece tournament.

Teams from Major League Soccer received more money than those from Liga MX, as reported by FIFA, after the participation of the respective players in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“The FIFA Club Aid Program is a clear example of how the FIFA World Cup has a positive impact on clubs around the world,” said Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA. The same program will distribute a total of 209 million dollars.
MLS will receive a total of $5,404,952, while Liga MX will keep $4,736,975, a difference of just over half a million. It is no surprise that the US led the Concacaf zone, not only in money received but also as the highest on the most recent FIFA ranking.
