Antonio Mohamed, head coach of Toluca, has made no secret in the past of his desire to manage the Mexican national team, as well as other national sides. However, the man known as “Turco” has now ruled out coaching El Tri in the future because he did not like the way he was treated.

“It’s not Argentina or Mexico, but Mexico is now closed for me too, so the only one left is Argentina, which I see as difficult, so I’ll think about clubs,” he said in an interview with FOX, where he explained why he has ruled out Mexico as a future workplace.

“Because I didn’t like the way they treated me, that’s all. I believed I should have been the coach at the start of this cycle and not the people who were chosen, with all due respect to those who were chosen, right? But I believed it should have been me and, well, if they don’t want me, they won’t want me when they need me either. So it’s better that they never need me, and that’s it, easier,” Mohamed said.

He continued: “No, the presidents, it’s clear, the ones who met with me, each of them has their own way of choosing. That’s clear. And that’s fine. I’m not questioning anything, only that, well, whenever decisions are made there are two sides and one side ends up angry, and I handle anger in my own way, right? Everyone handles it however they want. Some people like to forgive or treat it as nothing, or it hurts you and you feel you didn’t like the way things were done, that’s all... still, I feel more like a Mexican coach than a coach from any other country,” Mohamed concluded.
