Brazil are set to get their Copa América journey underway with their game against Costa Rica in Group D. Ahead of the tournament debut, Neymar spoke at a media event, where he gave his thoughts on the Brazil squad and their chances.

A cruciate ligament and meniscus tear in Neymar’s left leg caused the player to be unavailable for the Copa América that is being held in the United States. The Brazilian was the standout absence of Dorival Junior’s squad in the buildup to the competition, with Rodrygo taking on the responsibility of inheriting his number 10 shirt.

When is Brazil - Costa Rica?

Rodrygo Brazil’s key player, says Neymar

The Al Hilal player is currently in Los Angeles, where Brazil will make their debut against Costa Rica. Before the game, Neymar was present at the Hollywood Paladium, at a brand event. It was here where he was asked about Brazil’s top talent and key players.

“Brazil’s key player? For me I think it is Rodrygo, because everyone knows how Vini will play, but Rodrygo, I think, is very different. He is a star and the number 10 shirt will definitely bring him a lot of luck,” Neymar said.
