When was the last time the big four in Mexico won on the same weekend?

América, Cruz Azul, Pumas and Chivas have not won on the same matchday in Liga MX in over a year.

It has been almost 17 months since the last time the so-called big four of Mexican football - America, Cruz Azul, Pumas and Chivas - won on the same matchday.

It is increasingly difficult to find when Águilas, La Máquina, Pumas and El Rebaño Sagrado have all won in the same week..

In the current season alone, the Apertura 2022, thirteen games into the season, there has not been a single matchday in which all four teams have recorded a win.

Cruz Azul lose as other three win

In the recently played matchday 13, América, Pumas and Chivas won their respective matches, but Cruz Azul lost in their visit to the BBVA stadium, against Monterrey.

Three of the “big four” have a game in hand on different matchdays: América on matchday five, Pumas on matchday seven and Chivas on matchday nine.

You have to go back a long way to find out when América, Chivas, Pumas and Cruz Azul last won on the same matchday.

This happened, for the last time, on matchday 12 of the Clausura 2021 tournament, which was played between 18 and 21 April, which means that almost 17 months have passed since the four sides won on the same weekend.

On that date, América won 1-0 away to Mazatlán at the Kraken stadium, the same scoreline with which Pumas defeated Atlético San Luis at the Alfonso Lastras stadium.

Chivas also won 2-1 away to Monterrey, while Cruz Azul beat Atlas 3-2 at the Azteca stadium.
