The Cuscatlán stadium has always been a nightmare for the teams in CONCACAF because of the hostile environment that the fans create during the entire match. The El Salvador national team will host the United States on Tuesday night for matchday four of the Nations League.

The last time the USMNT played against El Salvador at the Cuscatlán stadium was for the World Cup qualifiers last year and the game ended in a scoreless draw. This is the first time this year that both teams will face each other and the field will not be in great shape due to the quantity of rain that has been falling all week long.

On Monday both teams trained at the Estadio Cuscatlán and some players found metal pieces on the field. The grass has not been in good condition for weeks now because of concerts that were held and the amount of games that have been played throughout the year.

Changes for the USMNT

The coach of the United States, Gregg Berhalter, has confirmed some changes in the starting XI for the match against El Salvador. Ethan Hovarth from Nottingham Forest will make his first appearance in this edition of the tournament after he became the hero last summer in the final against Mexico. Berhalter also confirmed that Haji Wright will be the starting No 9 but he didn’t confirm if Christian Pulisic will start.
