Pumas’ César Huerta voted Liga MX Player of the Month
The Pumas forward has been selected as the best player of the 2023 Liga MX Apertura.
César Huerta has been making headlines recently with his performances instrumental in seeing the university side to climb to the higher echelons of the Liga MX Apertura table.
The striker has been selected by a group of LIGA MX fans and experts as the best player for the month of September which was due to his excellent performances in the league and friendly matches for El Tri against Australia and Uzbekistan.
In his international debut against the Australian side, the former Chivas player rescued the game with a goal in the final minutes and against Uzbekistan he started the game and delivered an accomplished performance. But was principally in his performances with Pumas in the league that got people talking as ‘El Chino’ scored three goals in four games, a double against Puebla and a excellent strike against Atlético San Luis.
For this FIFA window, Huerta was once again called up to the Mexico squad by Jaime Lozano with the new El Tri manager stating: “Here is one of the best performers, not only with Pumas but in the entire League. When a player is as decisive as Huerta is at this moment, it’s a source of joy and it gives me peace of mind to know that we have this type of player with us.”
