Although the arrival of Antonio Mohamed has improved Pumas’ recent performances, the club’s board are already focused on the Apertura 2023 tournament and are considering players to strengthen the squad. One of those possible signings would be Argentinos Juniors’ central defender Kevin Mac Allister.

The 25-year-old can play both at centre-back and right-back, meaning Mohamed could use him in both positions. The defender has a market value, according to Besoccer, of $6m.

So far, however, there has been no offer from Pumas for the player, as confirmed to AS by the player’s entourage. Mac Allister, who has a contract with the Argentinians until December 2025, has an agreement with the club to move if a formal offer arrives, AS understands.

The defender, brother of Brighton and Argentina international Alexis Mac Allister and son of former Boca Juniors player Carlos Mac Allister, has 157 appearances, 13 goals, and four assists with Argentinos. He previously played for Boca Juniors and the Argentina U23 team.
