Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr. set date for contract renewal talks
Both parties are expected to meet before preseason begins, with growing optimism that the Brazilian star will sign a new deal.

Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr. have already set a date to resolve the Brazilian star’s future before the club begins preseason.
Following the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup, representatives from both sides spoke and agreed to meet during the final days of July in an effort to finalize a contract extension, according to AS. Their latest conversations suggest there is genuine confidence that an agreement is within reach.
Both sides want a deal
During those discussions, Vinicius and Real Madrid executives each made clear that their priority is the same: extending the forward’s contract and ensuring he remains at the Santiago Bernabéu for years to come.
The Brazilian is also expected to take on an even greater leadership role within Jose Mourinho’s squad as the club’s second captain.

Real Madrid has often preferred to let players and executives finish their summer vacations before completing major contract renewals, and that approach appears to be continuing. Any uncertainty that existed earlier this summer has reportedly been replaced by growing confidence that negotiations will end successfully.
Vinicius has reiterated his desire to stay
Vinicius has repeatedly communicated his desire to remain with Real Madrid, making that clear to club president Florentino Perez and other senior executives.
The feeling is mutual. Club officials at Valdebebas have also indicated they are eager to complete a new agreement, to the point that Vinicius’ future is no longer viewed internally as an immediate concern.
There is widespread belief within the club that the Brazilian will begin the new season with a fresh long-term contract already in place.
Of course, every negotiation has a timeline. Real Madrid’s current offer will not remain open indefinitely, but the latest progress suggests the remaining details could be resolved within the next few weeks.
Part of Real Madrid’s long-term strategy
Much like Aurelien Tchouaméni’s recent contract renewal, Vinicius’ extension is considered part of the club’s broader long-term strategy, regardless of Mourinho’s arrival.
While Mourinho has significant influence over many sporting decisions and has already played a direct role in some of the club’s transfer business, Real Madrid’s overall contract strategy remains in the hands of club leadership.
Securing new deals for both Tchouaméni and Vinicius has long been a priority, and optimism surrounding the Brazilian’s future has continued to grow.
For now, Real Madrid executives appear increasingly relaxed after the latest exchanges with the player’s camp. At no point has the club viewed selling Vinicius as part of its plans. Their focus has remained on reaching a renewal agreement.
That stance could change only if a new contract is not finalized before the start of the season, but all indications now point toward an extension being completed.
