Reports in France suggest that European Champions Real Madrid are interested in signing French Eintracht Frankfurt striker, Randal Kolo Muani. The forward, from Bondy, turned into a key player in France’s extraordinary yet unsuccessful pursuit of the World Cup in Qatar; now, his form in Germany has led to many clubs taking a keen interest in the player.

Real Madrid’s transfer policy for next season has been well documented, with rumours of Jude Bellingham circling the sky in Madrid. As well as this, Gabri Veiga is also said to be attracting loving glances from the capital. But Madrid have a problem further up the field, where the goal scorers like to hang out: Karim Benzema is into his mid 30s and Álvaro Rodríguez isn’t old enough to drink beer in the USA, meaning that the two striking plans for the club are very much on opposite ends of the scale, creating more risk for very different reasons. You’ll notice I didn’t mention Mariano. Let’s continue.

As such, the name of Randal Kolo Muani has, according to 10sport, been thrown into the mix at the Santiago Bernabéu, with his 13 goals and 12 assists in the Bundesliga alone attracting a lot of loving attention. Names such as Vlahovic and Kane have been sounded out by Madrid executives as potential stop gaps until the inevitable Haaland/Mbappé 2024 conversations come back around, but if they are to take a more long-term appraoch, the Muani - valued at €100 million, the same as Kane and Vlahovic - is certainly an option.

However, Los Blancos face stiff competition if they are to jump into the ring and wrestle for the signature of the 24-year-old, with both Bayern Munich and PSG also vying for the player. The German club have failed to sign a true replacement for Robert Lewandowski and now realise that former Stoke City striker Eric maxim Choupo-Moting is not as good as the Pole. As for stable, calm, club-of-confidence, PSG, they are considering doing the unthinkable and going into the brace position while they declare red-alert-meltdown mode: with their players revolting, the fans unhappy and the city about to tear in two, they want to stop the plans of money-spending madness, get rid of Lionel Messi and focus all their attention on Mbappé. What could possibly go wrong?

In order to focus their attention on Kylian Mbappé, the club want to buy players that are keen on playing for - sorry - with him. The three clubs mentioned also face competition from Manchester United who, after getting rid of Cristiano Ronaldo, are quietly creeping along, minding their own business, getting slowly better each step of the way. Apart from losing 7-0 to Liverpool, or 3-0 to Sevilla, or letting Spurs get back to 2-2. Lads, it’s Spurs.

As expected, no official bids have been made regarding the player but his name will not be a flash in the pan this summer. Expect to see Randal Kolo Muani’s face everywhere until a deal is done that keeps him where he is or takes him off to pastures new. Whatever he does, if he keeps scoring like he is, then nobody will mind seeing his name in the news that much.
