FT Real Madrid 0-4 Barcelona
A marker laid down by Barcelona, who are now five points clear at the top of the table and eight ahead of Real Madrid, who have a played a game fewer.
- Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic opened the scoring for Barça in the fourth minute and the result was never in doubt from that moment
- The Catalans pressing caused Real Madrid lots of problems in the opening half-an-hour and the visitors could have added another two or three goals in that period
- The hosts eventually stemmed the flow of Barça attacks but offered nothing going forward and conceded a crucial second goalto Patri Guijarro from a corner just before half-time
- A third from Aitana Bonmatí early in the second period killed off the game as a contest, with Barcelona speeding up and dropping the tempo as they saw fit
- Fridolina Rolfo was a constant threat down the Barça left and could have ended the game with several assists, as well as scoring the fourth goal after a defensive mix-up
- Real Madrid's only real effort on goal in the second half came at 0-3 down after Barcelona had given the ball away carelessly inside their own half, with Claudia Zornoza striking the post from distance with a fine effort

Do Barcelona actually play in blue and maroon? Looks more of a red to me most years now.
Anyway, you get the point.
Barcelona maintain perfect start
9/9 and there's a decent chance that it could be 30/30 at this rate.
Real Madrid huffing and puffing in search of a goal but there's no way through.
90 minutes are up, we're going to have four minutes of stoppage time.
Almost a goal for Vicky López seconds after coming on! She rifles a left-footed shot just past the angle of post and bar.
Barça switch

Athenea and Rolfo are having a real ding-dong battle, neither player shirking a challenge. Rolfo has come out in top in both defence and attack.
0-4! Rolfo!
It was only a matter of time before that move ended in a goal. Misa made two stops before Lucía Rodríguez's clearance off the line ricochets off Rolfo and bounces over the line.
Another inviting cross from the left from Rolfo and both Oshoala and Parauello are interested in getting on the end of it. It evades both of them though and Real Madrid just about scramble it away.
My Catalan is not great but I believe this translates to "Love for the colours"
Great feet from Parauello as she wriggles away from a couple of Real Madrid players and runs towards the penalty box. Her shot flies well over the bar, however,
Barcelona changes
Engen and Oshoala come on for Keira Walsh and Geyse.
Another sight of goal for Geyse but her effort from a tight angle flashes well wide of the target.
Real Madrid subs
Oroz and Moller Hansen on for Abilleira and Svava.
Some promising signs in the last few moments for Real Madrid but neither Athenea, nor Caroline Weir, nor Carmona can quite work the ball into a shooting position.
Parauello has been in the thick of things since coming on. A typical 'forward's tackle' on Misa and she's in the book.
Barcelona are creating chances in bunches, Geyse comes really close to bundling the ball in from close-range but is denied by a last-ditch block after a cross from the right.
Barça cranking things up again. Parauello and Rolfo combine once again but this time it's the Swede who shoots, her powerful strike beaten away by Misa.
Almost an instant impact from Parauello! Rolfo races away down the left and crosses to the back post for Parauello, whose first-shot is well saved by Misa Rodriguez.
Crnogorcevic heading off
Off goes Barça goalscorer Crnogorcevic, on comes Salma Parauello.
And seconds after I typed that, Rolfo goes in the book for catching Athenea in the face with an elbow. It did look accidental, in fairness...
A bit of argy-bargy between Rolfo and Athenea. She's putting herself about, if, nothing else.
Athenea has switched from the left wing to the right now that Carmona has come on. As one of Madrid's most dangerous attackers, let's see if she can have more joy in her new position.
Maybe there is hope for Real Madrid yet! For once, Barcelona make a mess of playing out from the back and Claudia Zornoza pounces, curling a fine effort against the post with Sandra Paños scambling.
A rare effort on goal for the hosts as Tere Abilleira fires a free-kick a yard over the bar.

Seconds before that third goal, Nahikari García and Olga Carmona came on for Esther González and Sandie Toletti for Real Madrid. You might say a thankless tasks for the new girls.
0-3! Aitana Bonmatí!
That must be game over.
Rolfo lofts a left-wing cross up to the back post and the Real Madrid defence make a hash of clearing it. Svava gets underneath it, Rocío miskicks it and it falls to Aitana, whose shot is deflected into the net.
Should've been 3-0! Souza gives the ball away needly and leaves Geyse and Crnogorcevic two against one with Rocio. The Brazilian squares the ball to the Swiss attacker but her poor strike is easily pushed wide by Misa. The corner comes to nothing.
A characteristic break forward from midfield from Aitana Bonmatí looks to have set her clean through on goal but she went a little too early and is flagged offside.
Second half underway
Away we go! What can Real Madrid do to find a way into this game?
The teams are back out for the second half. No changes.
As things stand, Barcelona will go five points clear at the top of Liga F. If Real Madrid can't take a point from them, especially when they are missing some key players, I wonder who can?

And that's half-time! Real Madrid with it all to do in the second period.
- Barcelona made an absolutely blistering start to the half. Crnogorcevic's goal after four minutes immediately put them in the driving seat and they pressed the life out of Madrid in the opening 20 minutes. They could easily have scored another two or three goals before the half-hour mark.
- Real Madrid managed to stem the flow of Barcelona attacks by putting more pressure on the ball but they've offered next to nothing going forward, other than an Esther González strike after the ball deflected its way through to her in the box.
- Barça finished the half strongly and Patri Guijarro's close-range goal from a corner just before the break means they have a comfortable lead going into the second period.

A high corner comes in from the left and Guijarro is left all alone six yards out to take it down and apply the finishing touch. That first touch to kill the ball was fantastic, not sure how she got so much time so close to goal though...
Toril looking very pensive on the touchline. And there's plenty for him to think about as he looks to get his team back into this game.
Geyse is constantly looking for balls in behind the Real Madrid defence. Her movement is looking very dangerous although she's been caught offside a number of times already. Still, it only takes one well-timed run...
Big chance for Esther González! It looked as if that Real Madrid attack was about to peter out but a ricochet ended at the feet of Esther in the box. I don't think she realised how much time she had there, her weak effort was easily stopped by Sandra Paños.
Real Madrid boss Alberto Toril will be happy with how his team have readjusted in the last 10-15 minutes although they've not offered much going forward. That's going to have to change.

Real Madrid cut open the Barcelona defence for the first time but Athenea's low cross is easily cleared to safety.
Just wide from Guijarro! Crnogorcevic knocked it down to her from a corner and the midfielder's dink just floated wide of the post.
After a break of a few minutes, Barça go on another venture into the Real Madrid box. Rolfo's cross is easily taken by Misa Rodríguez though.
Real Madrid have at least calmed down a bit and managed to stem they flow of attacks from their opponents. They're lucky not to be at least three or four down.
Florentino Pérez and Raúl González in the crowd tonight. Not sure they'll have enjoyed what they've seen so far...
Another Barcelona break and another near thing. Geyse is released down the right flank and unselfishly picks out Guijarro, whose shot is blocked. Geyse maybe should've shot there...
Four minutes it took...
Rolfo is next to almost find the net for the visitors from a free-kick, shooting narrowly wide. She was flagged offside in the end, though.
Real Madrid have not got going at all yet. They really need to see this spell out.
Barça close again! Geyse gets to the goal line on the left and chips it up to the back post for Bronze, whose header is hacked away from just off the linke from Kathellen.
Another big chance for Crnogorcevic, Misa saves again! What a start from Barça.
Barcelona take an early lead!
Crnogorcevicheads the visitors in front! What a market to put down. And it comes just after Guijarro had hit the bar with another header. What a start!
Guijarro's cross finds Crnogorcevic, whose header finds the net. Barça's early pressing has paid off.

Warm-ups coming to a close, almost time to go!
You might remember that these two set a new attendance record for a women's soccer match back in March when they met in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
91,553 people turned out at Camp Nou that night (a record which was broken soon after as Barcelona faced Wolfsburg in the semi-finals). This will be a rather more intimate affair, although the 6000-capacity Estado Alfredo Di Stefano is thought to be a sell-out.
That means that there might never be a better chance for Real Madrid to get one over on their old adversaries (at least in the men's game). Barcelona have won every single meeting between the clubs so far, although that only goes back to 2020.

Big players absent for Barça
Sadly, there are some key players missing from today's game, especially for Barcelona. Ballon d'Or Féminin winner Alexia Putellas is still recovering from an ACL tear, while Barça are also without Mariona Caldentey and Norwegian Caroline Graham Hansen, which means they're attacking line-up isn't quite at full strength.

Barcelona - zero dropped points from first seven games
One of those clubs ahead of them is, inevitably, Barcelona. The Catalans have bulldozed their way to three successive league titles and show no signs of letting up this season; seven league games, seven victories, 25 goals scored, only two conceded.
For all that Real Madrid’s start to the campaign has been impressive, Barça has been just that bit better. Today's fixture is an opportunity for Las Blancas to test themselves against the best and for their opponents to show who remains on top.
Real Madrid - two dropped points from six league games
Madrid have made a blistering start to the new season, winning five and drawing one of their opening six league matches, their only dropped points coming in a 2-2 draw at Levante. They’ve conceded just one other goal and have scored more than three a game on average. As things stand, that’s good enough for fifth spot in the table (which is why I said this was a top-of-the-table (ish) clash), although the four teams ahead of them have played either one or two games more.
The Real Madrid ladies have arrived and will be well up for this. Let's take a little look at what's at stake in this game.
Real Madrid, by the way, are going with El Clásico (it's in their interest, I would suggest).
Real Madrid Femenino play their home games at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, which is where the Real Madrid's men's side played most of their 'pandemic football' while the Santiago Bernabéu was being done up.

El Clásico femenino...or not?
A phrase that I've seen floating around lots this week is that this game is El Clásico of women's football. I've also seen others arguing that Real Madrid's women's team have only been around for two minutes (since 2020, actually) and that the rivalry isn't deserving of that tag yet.
Many of those same people claim Atlético Madrid vs Barcelona would be the closest thing to a Clásico in the women's game, with the two teams having won 10 of the last 11 titles on offer.
One of life's big questions and indeed debates.
