João Félix’s destination countdown continues without interruption. The Portuguese forward has been keeping an eye on the calendar and the transfer market, hoping to avoid returning to parent club Atlético Madrid. However, he is scheduled to begin preseason training on Monday 10 July and embark on the tour two weeks later. As the days pass by, Félix acknowledges that he will likely have to participate in at least a few training sessions with the rojiblancos, while his potential suitors remain hesitant to make a move. Paris Saint-Germain, though, is interested in him and the prospect suits both parties, although financial considerations need to be taken into account. João Félix, still just 23 years old, is also tempted by the possibility of moving to Paris.

Will João Félix join PSG?

The striker has no desire to return to Atleti, but he is not open to just any other move. While he initially looked towards the Premier League’s top clubs, PSG meets his demands: the opportunity to play in the Champions League and contend for titles.

Moreover, the presence of Luis Enrique, who previously motivated Félix when there were rumours of a future at Atlético, makes the prospect appealing. The idea of going out on loan and potentially considering a managerial change in the summer adds further intrigue. Additionally, having teammates like Danilo Pereira, Renato, and Vitinha in the dressing room strengthens PSG’s case. AS has indicated that Félix’s potential move to PSG is heavily dependent on Neymar’s departure, although they also need to resolve the Mbappé situation. The new coach is in need of attacking spark, and the Portuguese youngster could provide just that.

João Félix | to Atlético, Chelsea and where next?

Atlético happy for Félix exit

Over at Atlético Madrid, they are eagerly awaiting developments. The club has opened the door for Félix’s departure, but they will only enter into negotiations for significant proposals. Any interested party must be prepared to offer around €100 million (c.$109m), a figure that no one has come close to meeting.

If the required offer fails to materialise, Félix will remain part of the squad. The recent announcement that Antoine Griezmann will wear the number ‘7′ jersey has led many to interpret it as a sign that the Portuguese forward may not feature prominently.

João’s short stint at Chelsea was not successful, and despite the owner’s belief in him, that option was quickly ruled out. Barcelona holds admiration for the Portuguese talent as well, but their current financial situation makes any potential deal impossible. In contrast, PSG possesses the financial muscle required, especially if they execute a significant sale.

Luis Enrique holds a high regard for João Félix, and the team is in need of new stars following Messi’s departure and other impending exits. The player is keen to see movement in the situation to get his mind straight. However, in the meantime, he must prepare himself for training in Madrid.
