Reports suggest PSG, Liverpool and Manchester United interested in Napoli defender, Kim Min-Jae
Three of Europe’s biggest teams have their eye on one of Italy’s hottest prospects, with one side already proposing an astronomical contract offer.
What’s the opposite of slamming a window closed? Well, the transfer window is about to be slid open in a violent manner with all my force and might; as we enter the final stretch of the season, the draft excluders are no use for the stronger-than-light breeze that is creeping in before the July 1st opening date. Here we go again, and here come the transfer rumours.
The latest name to come out of the transfer vortex is that of Kim Min-Jae, the 26-year-old Napoli centre-back. The defender helped the Italian side to their first Serie A title in over 30 years and has had a stellar season at the club, scoring 2 goals and getting 2 assists so far.
Footmercato report that PSG, Liverpool and Manchester United are all interested in signing the South Korean, and that Erik ten Hag’s team have already offered the player a phenomenal deal to move to England. The report says that the contract deal is comparable to that of “a top striker” and that the injuries to Varane and Martínez, as well as the black hole that is Harry Maguire, have made the defender one of the top priorities for The Red Devils this summer.
The report says that Manchester United are aware of the player’s contractual situation and the presence of a release clause in his contract, said to lie somewhere between £43million and £52m, are “keen to sign the 26-year-old”, adding that “discussions between the player’s entourage and the Red Devils’ management took place a few weeks ago.”
As for the other clubs interested, Liverpool and PSG both have the player on their wish-list and would be keen on exploring their options to sign him, but as of yet it seems that Manchester United are the only team who have shown their money in the race to sign the upcoming star.
