Stunning Lionel Messi free kick dazzles at Club World Cup
Inter Miami went behind against FC Porto in their group stage game but the captain struck home a sensational free kick.

Inter Miami went into their second game of the Club World Cup as underdogs against FC Porto and fell behind early in the first half.
But after being outplayed in the opening 45 minutes, the Herons came out of the traps fast in the second half. Telasco Segovia levelled the game after two second half minutes, before the captain took charge.
Just minutes later, Lionel Messi drove towards the edge of the Porto penalty box and was felled by a defender. The free kick was in perfect ‘Messi range’ and the Argentine did not disappoint.

With the ball placed slightly left-of-center, Messi wrapped his famous left foot around the free kick and whipped it into the top corner. Cue bedlam at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. After a drab opening night game and an early deficit against Porto, Miami’s Club World Cup campaign was truly underway.
