The controversial video of Cannavaro injecting Neoton phosphocreatine in the 1999 UEFA Cup final
Following Dino Baggio’s comments about Vialli’s death, a video of Cannavaro injecting himself with Neoton has re-emerged.
Dino Baggio spoke on Tv7 about his former team mate Gianluca Vialli, who died on 6 January aged just 51 and expressed his concern about the possible influence of doping substances in the football world - drugs and supplements that he took too. “Luca left our lives too soon. We should investigate the substances we took at that time. There has always been doping and it should be seen if some supplements did harm over time. I am afraid for myself, it is happening to too many footballers, illnesses, deaths...” he commented.

Following those comments by the former Italian player, this video has reappeared on social media in which Fabio Cannavaro is seen being intravenously administered Neoton (phosphocreatine), a non-prohibited drug that transforms fat into energy. The World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited since last January the administration of drugs intravenously. Italian public broadcaster RAI aired the images of Cannavaro, then aged 25, ahead of the 1999 UEFA Cup final between Parma and Olympique Marseille, yesterday on the program Punto e a Capo.
