The main reason Alexis Sánchez rejected offers to play in MLS

The Chilean striker rejected a move to the United States league, which this year added its most expensive signing in history.

Update:

Alexis Sánchez received several offers to leave Udinese, after his worst season ever, in what was his disappointing return to the Italian team.

The forward rejected offers from South America, Saudi Arabia, and the MLS. The reason is more than compelling: The Tocopilla native is set to become a father for the first time, with the news that his partner, Russian model Alexandra Litvinova is expecting a child.

In the case of MLS, Litvinova would have a hard time obtaining a US visa in the current international/political climate, with a war still raging between Russia and Ukraine. This situation made it impossible to move and have a family life in the United States.

In early August 2025, TuttoUdinese reported that “there is a strong and concrete interest” from an MLS team in signing Alexis Sánchez. However, they did not reveal the name of the interested team.
