Everything is set for the start of the CONCACAF Champions League and there will be a new champion since the Seattle Sounders, who won it in 2022, didn’t qualify for this year’s campaign. Once again it is expected that the winner will be a team from MLS or Liga MX, as the two leagues continue to vie for supremacy in the region.

Tigres the team to watch

This year Tigres UANL returns to the tournament after winning the title in the 2020 edition, defeating Los Angeles FC in the final that year. The Liga MX side is one of the top contenders to win this campaign even though they are looking for a manager to replace Diego Cocca, who left to take over the Mexico job last month.

Los Felinos have the most expensive team in the tournament, with a market value of $74,692,682 million, according to Transfermarkt. The most expensive player out of the 22 that were included in the final roster is Nicolás Ibáñez, with a market value of $7,936,800 million. The striker joined Tigres from Pachuca prior to the start of the Clausura 2023 tournament in January.

The second most valuable team in this edition of the tournament is LAFC, with a market value of $59,234,000 million. In second place is Liga MX side Pachuca, with a market value of $55,003,000 million, and below them are Philadelphia Union ($51 million), Austin FC ($50 million) and Orlando City ($44 million).
