Tigres vs América: suspended and injured players for Liga MX Clausura 2023 clash
In a box-office clash on matchday 11 of the Clausura 2023 tournament, Club América go to El Volcán on Saturday to take on Tigres.
This weekend there will be attractive duels in the Clausura 2023 and one of them is Tigres vs Club América, which promises to offer plenty of excitement at the Estadio Universitario. Las Águilas will look to get back to winning ways, while Los Felinos want to keep up the pressure on leaders Monterrey.
América
After losing at home to Pachuca last time out, América are under pressure to pick up three points on Saturday. For this match, Los Azulcremas will be without Brian Rodríguez and Alejandro Zendejas, who have not had many minutes in this tournament.
Meanwhile, head coach Fernando Ortiz revealed in his pre-match press conference that goalkeeper Óscar Jiménez will return to the bench due to the mistakes he has made in recent games. In his place, América will field Luis Malagón, who joined the club in the off season after the departure of Guillermo Ochoa.
Tigres
Tigres welcomed striker André-Pierre Gignac back from injury in midweek, and it is likely that he will start against América. Luis Quiñones, Jesús Garza and Igor Lichnovsky all go into the clash one yellow card away from a suspension, so if they are cautioned on Saturday they will miss next weekend’s Clásico Regio against Monterrey.
Faced with this situation, head coach Marco Antonio Ruiz could shuffle his pack to avoid losing players for the crucial matchday-12 game.
