Tyler Adams, Christian Pulisic and Tim Ream among the nominees for Player of the Year in the United States

After the journey for the United States in Qatar 2022 came to an end in the quarter-finals where they were eliminated by the Netherlands, preparations for the Player of the Year award ceremony in North American football are already underway.

This Thursday, the United States team, together with US Soccer, unveiled the list of five players nominated for player of the year, among which Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic and Leeds United’s Tyler Adams both feature. This probably comes as a surprise to very few people, as they were two of the most prominent USMNT players during the World Cup.

In addition to that, along with Pulisic and Adams are also Tim Ream, Antonee Robinson and Matt Turner, who also had a great year and a great World Cup with the USMNT and their respective clubs in the Premier League.

Pulisic looking for his third POTY award

In the event that Christian Pulisic is proclaimed the winner of the best player of 2022 for US Soccer, the Chelsea player will claim this award for the third time in his career. Pulisic would also become the first player to win it in consecutive years since Clint Dempsey in 2011 and 2012, and Landon Donovan in 2009 and 2010.
