Aston Villa are interested in signing midfielder Tyler Adams from Leeds United, according to a report by The Athletic.

The United States international is on Villa’s radar as Unai Emery continues his bolster his squad ahead of the new season and with European football on the horizon.

Adams, 24, was part of the Leeds side that was relegated from the Premier League but missed the final two months of the season due to a hamstring injury.

Leeds’ position

Leeds want the midfielder to remain at Elland Road but are aware that external interest may result in the player’s departure in the coming weeks and the right offer could force them into selling the left-footed player.

Villa have already signed fellow midfielder Youri Tielemans on a free transfer from Leicester City, who have joined Leeds in the Championship for the 2023-24 campaign.

US international

Adams made 24 Premier League appearances for Leeds last season but failed to score or assist after making the switch to Yorkshire for €17m. Transfermarkt currently value him at €18m.

The central midfielder is also a US international, and he has played for his country at senior level on 36 occasions.
