“Vitor Roque could be the new Ronaldo”
The young forward will land at Camp Nou this summer.
Barcelona have completed the signing of the latest big talent in Brazilian football: Vitor Roque. Former director of Internacional, Gustavo Grossi, says: “He’s a phenomenon. That’s all there is to it”.
Roque is set to be a key player in the future of FC Barcelona, and is expected to be a fan favourite. The forward’s potential is so great that Grossi even compares him to Ronaldo Nazario.
The list of young talents who got lost because of comparisons is too long: Gourcoff-Zidane, Halilovic-Messi, Freddy Adu-Pelé... however, Vitor Roque could be even better than Endrick, the Real Madrid forward and his Brazilian counterpart, according to Grossi. “He is the only player who can really become the new Ronaldo Nazario,” Grossi adds.
It so happens that their physical characteristics are similar and Roque has already tested himself at an elite level. “He has everything Ronaldo had: speed, technique, finishing ability, and an above-average winning character.”
Deco - at the helm at Barcelona - has signed “the best player currently playing in South America”. The Blaugrana could have a replacement for Robert Lewandowski and a player to accompany the likes of Pedri, Gavi and Alejandro Baldé at Camp Nou.
