Real Madrid continue to show their DNA. Los Blancos came from behind to turn the game on its head against Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. In a game for the ages that ended 3-3 and leaves everything to play for at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, it was the usual suspects for Ancelotti’s side who shone in front of goal.

Rodrygo scored the second goal for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, while Vinicius got an assist in the comeback, with the Brazilians proving to be a terror for clubs in England.

How many goals has Vinicius Jr scored against English teams?

Vinicius has been involved in 16 goals against Premier League teams, with 7 goals and 8 assists. Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool (5 goals and 2 assists) are his favourite opponent of all at this stage of his career.

With today’s assist, Vinicius has now contributed five goals against Manchester City: two goals and three assists, all of them coming in knockout rounds.

What is Rodrygo’s record against Premier League teams?

Rodrygo, for his part, scored against the treble holders in the most recent game, the third goal the Brazilian has scored in the knockout rounds against Pep Guardiola’s team.

Rodrygo has also scored three goals against Chelsea. The first came in the 2020-2021 season, when the Brazilian scored the goal that sent the match to extra time, which would later be won by Benzema right before the final whistle in another famous Madrid comeback.

His other two goals against Chelsea came in April 2023 when he got a brace away at Stamford Bridge. Madrid won that game - a quarter-final - 2-0 in both legs, with Benzema and Asensio scoring in the first game of the tie.

Real Madrid’s next game is against Mallorca on Saturday 13 April before they take on Manchester City once again, this time in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg at the Etihad Stadium in north-west England. That game is one for your diaries: Wednesday April 17 at 3p.m. ET / noon PT.
