Head coach Gregg Berhalter and his US side will play two final friendly games at the end of this month as they face Japan in Dusseldorf on 23 September and then travel to Murcia in Spain where they take on Saudi Arabia on 27 September.

The US coach confirmed the 26 players that will participate in both games with the September friendly games being the last time the team will play together ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

The tournament in the Gulf nation gets underway on 20 November and the US are pitted in Group B along with Wales, Iran and England.

As we approach the World Cup, this is another opportunity for us to take a step forward as a group,” Berhalter said. “We have a strong roster and can use these games as a measuring stick against World Cup opponents as we continue to gain valuable experience ahead of going to Qatar.”
