Monterrey Update:

Rayados was eliminated from the Clausura 2025 in Liga MX and the team were given a fortnight off ahead of Club World Cup preparation but in that time Sergio Ramos showed up regularly at the club’s training centre to recover his fitness levels.

The Spanish central defender recently shared an image on Instagram where he showcased another training session.

The veteran defender was unable to participate in Monterrey’s last matches of the season due to a muscle injury in his right thigh, which he suffered in the 17th matchday of the regular season against León.

He missed both Play-In games, against Pachuca and Pumas, respectively, as well as the quarter final tie against Toluca, where his team was eliminated.

Club World Cup, next stop for Ramos

Upon Rayados’ elimination from the Clausura, the club confirmed that Martín Demichelis would be leaving the club as a search for a successor continues with Domènec Torrent, Matías Almeyda and Hernán Crespo cited as candidates.

The Monterrey squad will report back for duty on May 26, and the new coach is expected to be hired by then.
