PREMIER LEAGUE

Which players have scored the most goals in the Premier League? Full list

Harry Kane, Sergio Agüero, Mohamed Salah, Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney... The English top flight has seen a fine selection of net fillers since 1992.

Update:
Which players have scored the most goals in the Premier League? Full list
ANDREW YATESREUTERS

Football, or ‘soccer’ to our American (or much older) readers, has been about in England for well over a century and the professional game there, in what is now the Premier League, is a booming business attracting millions of fans, as well as wealthy investors, around the world. And despite the multi-faceted, tactically astute, fitness-focused elements of the game, some people mainly come for the goals.

Goals, as is fairly obvious to anyone with a passing knowledge of the sport, are what win games -- don’t get me started on the complexity of what stats predominantly lead to winning titles -- and for this reason, this brief article is in honour of those goalscorers, net bulgers or onion-bag fillers. Here are the top 10 to have bothered the opposition goalkeepers on a regular basis...

As you can see above, Tottenham’s Harry Kane is the only player still knocking them in for fun in the Top 10, although there are a few more further down the list.

Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy sits in 14th position on 133 goals, 11 behind the place above him, while Liverpool’s Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah, has notched up 122 strikes, placing him in 19th but with several former players in his sights this season. Check out the full list which really covers every goal ever scored.

First Division/Premier League top goalscorers

Of course, the Premier League took over from the old English First Division and although we have much more data around since 1992, the record books before then should always be considered when assessing goalscorers.

As you can see from the table below, the still active Kane has some work to do to reach the heights of another Spurs legend, Jimmy Greaves, but if he continues scoring as he is, we’re likely to be adding him to the 200 club fairly soon.
