MEXICO

Who are the Mexico stars to have missed out on Colombia World Cup prep?

Although Tata Martino tried to give minutes to several of his squad members, there were some who did not see any action as Qatar approaches.

The days are approaching for Gerardo Martino to give his final list of 26 soccer players who will make up the Mexican national team for the World Cup in Qatar, and against Colombia several players who could make this group saw action on the field. However, there were others who did not, in what was El Tri’s farewell to the American continent.

Missing for Mexico

Jesús Angulo, Fernando Beltrán, Roberto Alvarado, Jesús Gallardo, Hirving Lozano (scored against Peru), Rodolfo Cota, Johan Vásquez, Edson Álvarez and Alfredo Talavera were missing against Colombia.

And then there was Nene Beltrán, Johan Vásquez and Jesús Angulo, all called up for this FIFA date, but did not feature against Peru and Colombia, so they run the risk of being left out of the next one, which will be the all important one before Qatar 2022.

After leading 2-0 in the first half, Mexico ended up losing 2-3 against Colombia, as the rivals managed to turn the score around in the second half. Next up will be Iraq and Sweden in Europe ahead of the showpiece event.
