Who is the most valuable player for each European country?

From Haaland, Mbappé and Foden to Pedri, Gvardiol and Musiala, there is a lot of young talent with a big price tag on them.

Whether playing at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar or sitting at home watching it on TV, there is some serious footballing talent across Europe. Spain, for example, can look at Pedri, normally starring for Barcelona as the country’s highest valued player, according to the website Transfermarkt.

Haaland, Mbappé, Foden most valuable

The Kopa trophy winner, with a price tag of 100 million euros (€1=$1.05) is just off the podium, however, where Norway boast striker Erling Haaland (170m), France with Kylian Mbappé (160m) and England with Phil Foden (110m). Germany’s Jamal Musiala shone on the FIFA stage and ties for fourth with Spain’s youngster.

Of the four remaining World Cup semi-finalists, there are two representatives from the Old Continent, France and Croatia. Obviously, the PSG winger is the leader of French valuations, while in the Croatian team, the surprising Josko Gvardiol stands out. The RB Leipzig central defender has been one of the revelations of the tournament, and the 60 million at which Transfermarkt rates him could well be spent in the coming markets.

On the other side of the same coin, we see the likes of Tjay de Barr from Gibraltar and Nicola Nanni from San Marino who are the cheapest representatives of a country in the continent, at just 150,000 euros. The Lithuanian Edgaras Utkus completes the lower podium at 800,000 euros.
