Luis Chávez’s fine performances at World Cup saw him become one of the most sought-after players in the Liga MX. The midfielder, who scored one of the goals of the tournament, was one of the few Mexico players to emerge from Qatar 2022 with any credit.

In the wake of his World Cup displays, speculation has been rife that Chávez could leave current club Pachuca, with major European clubs linked with the 27-year-old.

No firm bids tabled for Chávez, says Martínez

However, Pachuca’s president, Armando Martínez, says the reigning Mexican champions are waiting to receive a formal approach for the player.

“We all know what rumours are like,” Martínez told reporters on Friday. “But as things stand, I don’t have any offers on the table for Luis Chávez.
