2026 World Cup latest bracket: qualified teams, matchups and who faces whom in the round of 32
Mexico, United States and Germany are the first teams to qualify. On the other end, Haiti, Tunisia and Turkey have already been eliminated.
The World Cup group stage moves on, bringing its first moments of joy and heartbreak. The teams already celebrating have secured their places in the knockout stage, with their tickets to the round of 32 firmly in hand. Two of the three host nations have completed their opening assignments: Mexico defeated South Africa in the tournament opener before beating Korea Republic, while the United States overcame Paraguay and Australia.
The third team to record two victories was Germany. Die Mannschaft thrashed Curaçao before coming from behind to defeat Ivory Coast. Spain is virtually through to the knockout rounds after beating Saudi Arabia and drawing with Cape Verde. Norway, France, Argentina, Austria, Colombia, England and Ghana could be the next teams to secure qualification.

With one full matchday and part of the second completed, three teams have already booked their return flights home. Haiti, Tunisia and Turkey have all been knocked out after losing their opening two matches.

The World Cup schedule then moves into its decisive stages after the round of 32. The round of 16 will be played from July 4 to July 7, followed by the quarter-finals from July 9 to July 12, the semi-finals on July 14 and 15, the third-place play-off on July 18, and the final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey.
