Donald Trump named as first ever recipient of FIFA Peace Prize
FIFA chief Gianni Infantino has presented the U.S. president, Donald Trump, with the soccer governing body’s new prize.

Donald Trump is the inaugural winner of the FIFA Peace Prize, it was announced at Friday’s draw for the 2026 men’s World Cup.
The U.S. president, who attended the draw at the Kennedy Center, was presented with the award by FIFA chief Gianni Infantino, who had announced the creation of the prize last month.
“This is truly one of the great honors of my life,” Trump told audience members in Washington, D.C.
In a press release on Nov. 5, FIFA said its Peace Prize “will be presented to individuals who, through their unwavering commitment and their special actions, have helped to unite people all over the world in peace and consequently deserve a special and unique recognition.”
Trump receives the FIFA Peace Prize just under two months after failing to land its significantly more prestigious Nobel counterpart.
On Oct. 10, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced that the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize was to be awarded to Maria Corina Machado, a prominent opposition leader in Venezuela.
