Update:

The countdown to the 2026 World Cup is in the final straight with the tournament getting underway on June 11 as Mexico face South Africa at the Estadio Azteca.

Ahead of the tournament, FIFA are cranking up the noise levels on other auxiliary projects with the buildup to the official FIFA World Cup 2026 music album underway too.

The first single from the album, “Lighter” by Jelly Roll, Carín León, and produced by Cirkut was released on Friday, March 20, 2026 with the tune representing all three host nations (USA, Mexico, and Canada).

FIFA has confirmed the full compilation will be available by June 11, 2026, coinciding with the opening match at the Estadio Azteca but yet to confirm a definitive track listing.

Speaking ahead of the release of “Lighter”, FIFA chief Gianni Infantino stated: “The FIFA World Cup is one of the rare moments when the entire world moves to the same rhythm. The Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album is not simply a musical accompaniment to the tournament; it’s a statement about where the global game is going. By bringing together artists whose voices resonate across continents, we are creating something that mirrors the scale, ambition and cultural impact of this historic competition.
