Fans excited for CONCACAF Champions Cup for one reason in particular
The four teams involved in the prelude to the final arrive with high spirits after a great weekend in their respective leagues.
The 2026 Concacaf Champions League semi-finals will feature high-quality matchups between American and Mexican teams, with all four sides heading into the midweek games on the back of victories. In fact, three of them scored four or more goals over the weekend.
It promises to be an intense few days in the Concacaf region, as the first legs of the semi-finals arrive at a moment when every team involved is in strong form.
The Six Strings confirmed their status as the best team in the MLS Eastern Conference with a 4–2 home win over Charlotte. The side in yellow will now face Tigres after eliminating América in Mexico City.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles FC continue their impressive domestic run and will look to carry that momentum forward. A lone goal from Venezuelan David Martínez secured a road win over Minnesota, allowing the Californian side to turn their focus to Toluca.
Across the Rio Grande, the picture is much the same. Both remaining Liga MX sides head into the Concachampions semi-finals full of confidence after high-scoring performances at the weekend.
Tigres showed no mercy against Mazatlán, recording an emphatic 5–1 victory to knock the Cañoneros out of Mexico’s top-flight competition.
Toluca, known as the Red Devils, matched that intensity, securing their place in the Clausura 2026 play-offs with a commanding 4–1 win over León, who were eliminated as a result.
The first-leg matches of the competition will take place this week. Nashville will host Tigres on Tuesday, 28 April at 8:30 pm ET, while LAFC will face Toluca on Wednesday, 29 April at 10:30 pm ET.
