Late World Cup ticket demand surge for ‘Bafana Bafana’
There has been a late spike for demand to see Hugo Broos’ side in action with South Africa now the sixth most overall in-demand team in terms of ticket prices.

48 teams, 104 games and one champion to be crowned on July 19 in New Jersey. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is almost here and the fluctuation in ticket demand via the secondary market still is fascinating to watch as kick-off to the tournament looms.

Mexico remain the most in-demand team to watch in terms of average ‘get-in’ price on the ongoing study being conducted by Ticketdata.com.
The average ‘get-in’ price to see Javier Aguirre’s men in action is $1,550 confirming the appetite for games south of the border in Mexico.
Surprisingly, sitting in the Top 10 alongside the likes of popular teams such as Portugal, Brazil, Colombia and Argentina sit South Africa with Hugo Broos’ team seeing continued demand for match tickets.

This demand has to be caveated by one key factor. Bafana Bafana are involved in the opening game of the tournament on Thursday against Mexico and demand for this game is seeing a late surge with the ‘get-in’ price experiencing 6% increment over the past three days with a ticket for the game now costing $2,591 on the secondary market.
After their tournament opener against ‘El Tri’, South Africa head to Atlanta where they will face the Czech Republic in a game being offered with a far more palatable ‘get-in’ price of $227 before wrapping up their Group A campaign back in Mexico where they take on Korea Republic in Monterrey on June 24 with tickets for that game currently available for $667.
