World Cup 2026 Group C final standings: Results and teams qualified for the round of 32
Brazil topped their group yet again - and the Seleção’s win over Scotland leaves Steve Clarke’s men waiting to learn their World Cup fate.

Brazil and Morocco secured automatic qualification for the last 32 on Friday, with the South Americans winning their group for the 12th men’s World Cup in a row. After losing to the Brazilians, meanwhile, Scotland’s hopes of a first ever knockout-stage place hang in the balance.
What happened on Group C matchday three?
Following a matchday-two defeat to the Moroccans, Scotland needed an against-the-odds win in Miami to guarantee qualification from the group stage, having failed to reach the knockouts in their eight previous appearances at the men’s World Cup. However, Vinícius Júnior’s first-half double set up a 3-0 victory for the Brazilians, who topped of Group C on goal difference.
Scotland finished third, with three points and a goal difference of -3; Steve Clarke’s men must now wait to find out whether that will be enough to qualify as one of the eight best third-placed teams. According to the soccer stats specialists Opta, the Scots have left themselves with only a 24.86% chance of making it through.

In Atlanta, meanwhile, Morocco’s 4-2 win over already-out Haiti sent the Atlas Lions into the knockout stages for the second straight men’s World Cup. It’s the first time the Moroccans, who reached the semifinals in 2022, have ever negotiated successive group phases.
Achraf Hakimi, Ismael Saibari, Soufiane Rahimi and Gesims Yassine were all on target for the North Africans, after goalkeeper Bono’s own goal had giveen n the Haitians a surprise early lead at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It’s a result that left Morocco level with Brazil on seven points, but behind the five-time world champions on tiebreakers.
