You may have already missed Salah’s last game in a Liverpool shirt
Mo Salah may have already played his last game for Liverpool.
Just take the tissue. You’re not going to cry, I know, you’ve told me and I believe you.
No, of course I don’t. Take the damn tissue.
Mohamed Salah was replaced by Jeremie Frimpong in the second half of Liverpool’s Premier League win over Crystal Palace, a victory which saw them move into the Champions League places in the table.
Despite the joy at sitting in the European places, Liverpool fans were sweating over the substitution involving Salah, as it was later revealed that he had suffered a hamstring strain.
“We don’t know... we simply don’t know"
It was his prolonged applause to the crowd that sent stomachs twisting, in what looked ominously like a goodbye. After the game, Arne Slot did little to untie those knots.
“We don’t know, that is the best answer I can give,” Slot said when asked whether or not Salah has played his final game in a Liverpool shirt.
“If I say there might be a chance, that is probably all the headlines that there might be a chance so we simply don’t know but what we do know is that the season in four weeks is over.
“What I do know about Mo is he has taken so good care of his body all these years that he will have the minimum time required to recover from an injury and let’s hope for the best, that he is available in the last part.”
Yes, you can have another tissue.
