Casemiro’s time with Manchester United is set to come to an end this Sunday, when the Brazilian plays his final game in a Red Devils shirt before heading to MLS, specifically to Inter Miami, where he already has virtually everything agreed to continue his career.

As the days have passed, more details have emerged regarding Casemiro’s imminent move to the Fort Lauderdale side this summer. The deal is well advanced and could be finalised in the coming weeks.

AS USA has learned that a key figure in facilitating Casemiro’s move to Inter Miami has been David Beckham, who personally handled negotiations with Manchester United from the outset in order to bring the Brazilian to South Florida.

The strong relationship Beckham maintains with Manchester United and key figures around the Premier League club proved crucial in ensuring talks between Inter Miami and the Red Devils progressed smoothly, to the point where the transfer is now close to being completed.

AS USA has also learned that, unlike previous signings, the initiative on this occasion came entirely from the club’s board, particularly Beckham, who immediately saw a major opportunity to bring Casemiro to Miami and used his close ties with United to help make the move happen. That differs from previous arrivals, where the relationships players such as Suárez and De Paul already had within the squad also played an important role in bringing them to the club.

While Inter Miami await the completion of Casemiro’s signing, the club will need to free up roster space, as the Designated Player spots are currently occupied by Messi, De Paul and Berterame.

As a result, Casemiro is expected to arrive on a temporary contract, similar to the arrangement previously used by the club with players such as Jordi Alba and Rodrigo De Paul, before eventually signing a permanent deal.
