Atlético eyeing up PSV midfielder Adam Maher
The two sides meet in the Champions League next week and initial contacts could be initiated over the midfielder.
Atlético Madrid are continuing to comb the market for a new midfielder ahead of next season and have alighted on a possible target in the Eredivisie, PSV Eindhoven midfielder Adam Maher. Transfermarkt have reported that the Calderón scouting staff have been keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old, who has been one of the stand-out players in the Dutch top flight this season. PSV host Atlético in the Champions League last 16 at the Philips Stadion next week and Atlético may open initial inquiries about the Dutch international.
Maher has shone for PSV this season as the club advanced from the group stage of the Champions League, the first Dutch side to do so since 2006-07. PSV also lead the Eredivisie after 23 games, a point clear of Ajax. Maher’s performances have also drawn admiring glances from the Premier League. Transfermarkt place Maher’s market value at 5.5 million euros.
