Maradona: "Infantino knew what Blatter and Platini were up to"

"He's a traitor. Do you think he didn't know anything about what was going on? If that's the case, he's either stupid or his brain is addled", 'El Pelusa' claims.

Diego Armando Maradona has spoken out again about world football's governing body FIFA, only this time in typical style. El Pelusa, was involved in a live television phone-in from Dubai on Naples-based channel Piuenne's In Casa Napoli programme, and gave his opinion on last week's FIFA presidential elections:  “Infantino is a traitor and everyone will find out at some point. The United States still have not completed their investigations into FIFA and he knows what Platini and Blatter were up to. Do you think he didn't know anything about what was going on? If that's the case, he's either stupid or his brain is addled. He's only there to defend his boss,  Michel”.

The Argentine also spoke about his former club Napoli, who are scrapping it out with Juventus in a bid to win what would be their third Scudetto in club history. He hurled a barb at Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis for his comments about the alleged kilo and a half which he thinks Higuaín needs to shed: “The 'presi' should talk about his business; it's for the coach to deal with the players. He might save himself some time if he focuses on his own field”; and also coach Maurizio Sarri, who was criticial of the team's performances earlier in the season: “I've always had great respect for Maurizio but I am a Napoli fan and I want the team to win every Sunday. When he criticized the team, he hadn't yet gained control over the dressing room; now he has created a side which plays well”.

Maradona dreams of returning one day to his beloved Napoli but doesn't see himself on the bench just yet - “They've got Sarri andhe's doing a good job. If I do go back, it would be to win, for the fans - not as a holiday. De Laurentiis always says that he is going to talk to me but we've seen each other three or four times and he has never mentioned anything. I hope he's not hiding something, I prefer to talk face to face...”.
