Zidane prioritizes Europe: Kroos, James and Danilo rested
All three took part in today's session but Zidane decided to leave them out of his squad for tomorrow's league game against Las Palmas.
Zidane's thoughts are firmly on the Champions League. That was illustrated by his squad list for tomorrow's trip to Las Palmas. Toni Kroos, James and Danilo will play no part in Sunday's game. All three players started Tuesday's Last 16 return leg tie against Roma and while the team is now 15 points behind Barcelona in the league, the coach doesn't want to take any risks.
Karim Benzema will also stay at home.Zidane explained in his pre-match press briefing that the striker is due to return to work with the squad next week. New faces in the liost to meet Las Palmas include: Nacho, Arbeloa and Borja Mayoral.
The Real Madrid squad:
Goalkeepers: Keylor Navas, Casilla and Rubén Yáñez.
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Carvajal, Nacho and Arbeloa.
Midfielders: Casemiro, Kovacic, Modric, Bale and Isco.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lucas Vázquez, Borja Mayoral and Jesé.
