Casillas on bench as De Gea, Aduriz and Morata start
Spain team to play Italy (20:45 CET): De Gea; Juanfran, Ramos, Piqué, Azpilicueta; San José, Thiago; Mata, Fàbregas, Morata; Aduriz.
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has gone with a new-look strikeforce as the European champions face Italy in Udine tonight (20:45 CET).
In-form Juventus man Álvaro Morata and Athletic Club's 31-goal ace Aritz Aduriz both start, the pair joining forces up front for La Roja for the first time.
35-year-old Aduriz returns to the side five and a half years on from his one and only Spain appearance, which came against Lithuania in October 2010.
The other stand-out selection news sees Del Bosque give Manchester United's David de Gea the nod in goal, with Iker Casillas named on the bench.
Spain XI: De Gea; Juanfran, Ramos, Piqué, Azpilicueta; San José, Thiago; Mata, Fàbregas, Morata; Aduriz.
Meanwhile, Italy coach Antonio Conte has opted for the following line-up: Buffon; Astori, Bonucci, Darmian; Giaccherini, Parolo, Motta, FLorenzi; Eder, Pellé, Candreva.
