"Real Madrid and Cristiano brought Camp Nou to tears"

The world's media hailed Real Madrid's victory at Camp Nou. Among the chief protagonists of last night's Clásico were Benzema for his spectacular opener, Sergio Ramos for his performance nd subsequent sending-off, Bale for his presence in attack and above all Cristiano Ronaldo: "He won El Clásico for Madrid", opined A Bola and O Jogo in Portugal. In Catalunya, Mundo Deportivo noted: " Barça let an opportunity escape to leave Real Madrid and their slim hopes of snatching the league title by the wayside".

La Gazzetta dello Sport (Italy): "Benzema and Cristiano brought Camp Nou to Tears". "There were signs of courage, character and a dose of good fortunate which allowed Los Blancos to bounce abck against Barcelona... the absences of James and Isco didn't come a great surprise. As expected, Zidane put his faith in Casemiro in midfield... Cristiano showed great quality to control a Bale cross to make it 1-2 leave Camp Nou frozen".

The Mirror (England): "Cristiano gana el Clásico en la recta final". "Luis Enrique sprung no surprises with his team and opted not to rest any players ahead of Tuesday’s crunch Champions League clash with Atlético... Zinedine Zidane’s first clásico as a manager saw him pick a fairly predictable and conservative team. The big selection, albeit not a surprise, was Casemiro’s inclusion to anchor the midfield - a move that Rafael Benitez was regularly slaughtered for...  Bale is Madrid's most danfgreous player -  everything good that Madrid did came from down his right-hand side".

Daily Mail (England): "Benzema y Cristiano certifican el triunfo para el equipo de Zidane". "Cristiano won El Clásico for Madrid and Barcelona lose their first game in 40 matches... Barça now seem tired and have three days to recover for the Champions League".

Olé (Argentina): "Real Madrid did it". "Real Madrid resurged right at the end and took a 2-1 triumph against Barcelona with goals from Benzema (scissor-kick) and Cristiano. The referee wronfgly ruled out a Bale goal and didn't signal for a penalty when Ramos fouled Messi (and should have been sent off).  Atlético and make up ground on the culés in the league".

Bild (Germany): "Ramos exploded, Cristiano left Barça stunned". "A Clásico which was marked by the recent death of Cruyff... an overenthusiatic Ramos was given his marching orders...  and how did Cristiano react ? by scoring the winner on minute 85".

L'Équipe (France): "Barça fare from gave a recital in the Clásico... Madrid resisted the constant assaults from the culés during the first hour... Benzema hardly featured during the first half. In the second, he scored an incredible equaliser... Luis Suárez could have changed the course of the match but failed to cnnect with the ball in a clear chance on 10 minutes".

Sport: "The BBC conquer Camp Nou". "Real Madrid took the Clásico. But Barcelona will take the league, the 'BBC' (Bale, Benzema and Cristiano) got the better of the 'MSN' (Messi, Suárez and Neymar). Piqué's goal didn't serve Barcelona at all. There's no need for alarm but this defeat is a jug of cold water on the blaugrana family who wanted to pay tribute to Johan Cruyff...Up popped the BBC and the MSN vanished. That was the difference in a Clásico which could lift Madrid's morale and sow seeds of doubt into the minds of culés, although the league is still looking blaugrana-coloured".

A Bola (Portugal): "Cristiano hands Madrid victory". "Goals came from Piqué, Benzema and, as always, Cristiano. Fans had to wait until the second half for the entertain to start and Madrid deservedly took the three points".

O Jogo (Portugal): "A win at the home of the eternal rivals". "Cristiano resolved el Clásico, his 29th goal in  LaLiga this season... Madrid make up some of the ground they have lost in the title race".

Récord (Mexico): "The BBC conduct Madrid's fightback". "Real Madrid achieved a dream comeback to beat Barcelona 1-2 in the lastest edition of the Spanish Clásico... a catastrophe seemed certain for Zinedine Zidane when Sergio Ramos went into the book for a second time but on 83 minutes, Cristiano Ronaldo brought down a deep ball into the box and rifled past Claudio Bravo to seal an incredible turnaround".
