Negotiations between Rayo Vallecano and Paco Jémez to renew the coach's contract for a fifth season have been advancing over the past few days. The 46-year-old coach already has a firm offer on the table, which includes a considerable reduction in his previous salary - which Paco expected and fully understands; nevertheless his pay packet would still be in line with what many coaches in the top flight home. Now he has to make his mind up to take the offer, or decline. As it stands, Espanyol and according to Cadena SER, AEK Atenas and an unnamed Mexican club have shown an interest in hiring him. But Paco has no immediate plans to leave Spain which suggests that he will weigh up two options - staying with Rayo or accepting Espanyol's offer.

The club is less optimistic about Director of Sport Felipe Miñambres, who looks set to move on with Celta de Vigo his possible next destination. Miñambres is under contract with Rayo until 2017.
