After running out 3-1 winners on a very pleasant Madrid evening, Real Madrid stars of the past spoke about the game and their thoughts on the Champions League win.

Real Madrid legend, Raúl, was part of the winning side at the annual charity match held at the Bernabeu. This year's opponents were the Ajax legends including the likes of De Boer, Kluivert and Van der Sar but the home team, playing some lovely football throughout ran out 3-1 victors with goals from Luis Figo, Steve McManaman and a late, late goal from the inimitable Butragueño. Ajax took the lead through a bizare Seedorf own goal.

In an interview on the night, Raúl gave us his thoughts on various aspects connected with his ex-club.

The Champions League: "The credit goes to the players and the coaching staff. We were all supporting and suffering. They did it and we are happy".

Atlético: "I hope that Atlético have another season where they can win it. I'm sure they will achieve it with the work they are putting in".

The game with Ajax: "I feel very grateful for everything I've experienced here, to be here with these fans to whom I'll always be indebted. It was a game for a great cause and the people have responded".

Raúl thinks that Zinedine Zidane did as much as he could have done.

Zidane: "I am very happy with Zidane. You have to congratulate him as he couldn't have done any better".

Inconsistent season: "You have to always judge the season at the end of it, not in March or April. They fought for LaLiga right till the end and the team showed character through difficult times".

Other players on the charity match and the Undécima:

Seedorf: "It was incredible seeing Real Madrid win la Undécima and being at the top in Europe again. They show that they have magic in the finals. I'm always happy to take part in these games because I feel the love of the fans".

Roberto Carlos: “We made history with this shirt. I can only thank the fans for the affection that they show me. We're always looking forward to this game and we're delighted to take part. I feel part of the club. I enjoyed it and I suffered a lot in Milan. It’s a very important title".

McManaman: “Today is a perfect day. I return to the Bernabéu, to my home, where I’ve got a lot of friends. This club is historic, the most successful in the world. The Champions League is a very difficult competition to win. Zidane is the best in the world".

Butragueño: “Winning 11 European Cups is not something that happens every day and we're already thinking about the twelfth. It [Champions League final] was an incredible night against a fantastic opponent like Atlético”.

 Amavisca: "We hope that everyone has had a good time and had fun. It was a party for everyone. We've got 11 European Cups and next year we'll go for the twelfth. Real Madrid are used to these big feats".

Dani: "We like to collaborate and we have enjoyed the Classic Match. La Undécima was a joy. We've now got another Champions League here. I was confident about it and it's a joy for madridismo”.

Amancio: “It's played once a year and it's done for very important causes. It's marvellous. If it was repeated every three months the fans would also be delighted".
