De Gea: "Buffon is a living legend - every keeper's idol"
Spain's national team goalkeeper showed his admiration for the Italy and Juventus No.1 in declarations to UEFA.
David de Gea didn't hide his declarations for the player who will be in the opposing goal when Spain take on Italy on Monday, Gianluigi Buffon. "He's an idol for every keeper - he's a living legend" the Spanish goalkeeper told UEFA.
"[Buffon] is one of the goalkeepers who I have really studied, I've followed his career right the way through. He is a living legend in football, an amazing goalkeeper and he keeps showing that he is even after so many years in the elite. Above all else, he is an idol for any goalkeeper", De Gea enthused.
The Manchester United No.1 will be in the starting line-up for the fourth consecutive tijme at Euro 2016 after playing the full 90 minutes in all of Spain's group stage matches against the Czech Republic, Turkey and Croatia - on failing to keep a clean sheet in the latter, in which he conceded two goals.
