REAL MADRID

Marco Asensio negotiating improved terms with Madrid

He signed for Real Madrid in the 2014-15 winter window and was loaned out to Mallorca then Espanyol. Madrid want to prolong his contract. Zidane is counting on him.

Update:
Marco Asensio negotiating improved terms with Madrid

Real Madrid continue with their policy of bringing young players through the ranks with Marco Asensio negotiating new terms and prolomging his contract with the club. The promising youngster signed  fibe and half-year deal with Real Madrid in December 2014 but remained on loan for the rest of that season with Mallorca, completing 36 games and scoring four goals in the second tier; last season he was loaned out to Espanyol, where he gained a great deal of playing time, ending as the team's third most-used player (3,057 minutes), and finishing as the team's fourth top scorer with four goals. Madrid have been happy with how Asensio is developing and Zidane has plans for him - the coach wants to take a look at him during the pre-season; should he impress, Asensio would be part of the 2016-17 squad.

But there are other issues to iron out before that. Madrid are debating whether Isco and James should continue at the club or be sold off and there is the possibility that Asensio could be farmed out on loan for a third time but Zidane will have the final say. If that happens than Asensio will only have four seasons left on his contract when the norm is six; which is why Madrid are planning on offering the player an improved contract and extending the current arrangement by two years, taking Asensio to June 2022...
