Messi looks to avoid the media spotlight with family time in Ibiza

The Argentinian Barcelona star shares some holiday snaps from Ibiza while back on mainland Spain the backlash of the club's support stance continues.

Update:
Messi looks to avoid the media spotlight with family time in Ibiza

Leo Messi took to social media - as any self-respecting modern-day footballer would - to share pictures of himself enjoying some relaxation time with his partner and two children.

As well as chilling out after a tough season, culminating in the Copa América final disappoointment that caused him to retire from international football, he may be looking to avoid the current backlash to the campaign launched by his club, Barcelona, which aimed to gather support for their star after he was sentenced to 21 months jail time (time that will not be served) for defrauding the Spanish tax authorities of over four million euros.

Barcelona fans will be hoping that this break allows the player to return to their squad fully refreshed for their title defense and desire to dominate in Europe.

As the star passes time with his partner on the Balearic island, you can enjoy this video of some of the man's greatest passes with some of the best partners he's had on the field.

The message below his picture reads:

"My boys, It's impossible to love them more. What a beautiful family I have"
